Subject: Query on amphetamines

I enquired of Dr Shulgin about using something to block the more
unwanted effects of MDMA etc. The following is his response. As I
thought, it is rather uncharted territory!

All this is new to me, too. I would be sceptical about blocking
blood pressure rise as most of these clinical agents are for
emergency room use, in times of crisis, and they are usually
titrated to the immediate need with running feedback as to their
effectiveness. The usual prescription medications such as the
antihypertensives call for some period of build-up of
effectiveness, and somehow just don't sound right for the short
term needs of an acute pressor effect of MDMA.

Interesting idea.
